20 Photography Tips to Photograph Good Flowers and Insects

Tip 1-5


1. If it is still cold in an early spring night, it is not necessary to go out for photographing prematurely because insects themselves also haven't prepared for flying out.
2. Some insects will spend the night on the flower, so you may still find that they are sleepy, it is relatively easy to photograph them.
3. It is easier to be close before the completion of warm-up of the insect, because they will not so active, and will remain staying on the flower more.
4. When you are close to insects, you should avoid sudden and abrupt movements.
5. Avoid casting the shadow of you or your camera on the flower. If it can not be avoided, you must remember to use photo editor to dispose the shadow.

9. If possible, change the lens into VR (Nikon) or IS (Canon) in order to reduce vibration.
10. If you photograph the flowers which grows in a lower position, you can knelt on one knee and make one knee brace the elbow to steady the photography.

11. Try to make the insects represent more significant position of the composition.
12. To photograph active insects, you should use a higher shutter speed, and it suggests that you should install the flash onto the bracket.
13. Use wireless flash system such as Nikon R1C1 SU-800 and two SB-R200s, photograph around the lens; or use a group again to get the background light.
